Well Permit Regulations
Costa Rica although a very green and beautiful place to live and work has some of the most stringent laws and regulations pertaining to drilling for ground water extraction. We have a full staff dedicated to insuring your water well permit is submitted and processed in the timeliest manner obtainable. Below is a brief description of the permitting process and different reports needed for variable projects.
Residential Well
- Water Well permit submitted to both Department of water and SENARA located In San Jose Costa Rica
- Hydrogeological study
- If well is located less than one kilometer from the high tide mark of the beach, a "Intrusion of Saltwater Study" would need to be performed and submitted with well permit.
- 8 hour pumping test
- Well Concession
Project Water Well
- Water Well permit submitted to both Department of water and SENARA located In San Jose Costa Rica
- Hydrogeological study

- 24 or 48 hour pumping test
- Formation of either a Water Association, Public water distribution association ASADA or a condominium Association to legally distribute water to various lots.
